Excel ass.1

Hi Professor,
This was my very first time using excel, besides from the time we spent on it during class time. I am getting very comfortable with the computations and writing the formulas. However, I couldn't figure out exactly how to copy all the information from the chart onto the excel worksheet, instead of inserting every piece of information individually...

ass. 1

Hi,

In the first assignment I learnt to add texts to an already existing chart. By simply clicking inside the cell with the mouse, you can add more text to the cell, which grows automatically in proportion to the amount of text I added in.

a little about myself...

My full name is Natan Peretz Friedman. I am named Natan after my grandfather’s father, and Peretz after Grandmothers father, both from my father’s side. Peretz, who emigrated from Poland, worked as CPA, while Natan who emigrated from Lithuania worked as watch smith. Both of them stayed steadfast in their religious services, while simultaneously working hard to support their families. In fact, after my grandfather witnessed his father's rejection from the tuition committee of a Jewish elementary school, which resulted in him going to public school, he promised himself that he would take action some day. Indeed, after becoming very successful in the nursing home industry, he made sure to assist any Jewish kid in regards to his school tuition, as much as he can.

I was born in Einstein hospital while my father was enrolled in the Albert Einstein medical school. When I was about two years old, we moved to Providence, Rhode Island, where my father did his residency at Brown University. He eventually became an associate Professor of dermatology at the Brown medical school. When I was nine years old, we made aliyah to Jerusalem, where my family resides until this very day.

I have two sisters and two brothers. My older sister, Daniella, is married with two kids. She graduated from Hebrew University law school just over a year ago. Her husband, Chaim, studies and teaches at Yeshivat Aish Hatorah in the Old City of Jerusalem. My younger brother, Shlomo, is graduating this year from Machon Lev (Jerusalem Institute of Technology) with a degree in medical engineering. He just started his own start up company named ITD. My younger sister is doing sherut leumi at Zichron Menachem, which is an orginazation that helps sick children with cancer. My youngest brother, Avi, had just started high school where I myself had attended named Nehora, located just outside Modein.

Word 2007

Here are just a few of my favorite editions of word 2007, albeit that I am not so familiar with the older versions...

1)that the clipboard saves anything that you have copied, which is great if you want to paste something even though you have cut and pasted other parts in the mean time.

2)that you can sort the text by alphabetical order by using the "sort text" function.

3)the "find and replace function" is extremely efficient when I want to turn abbreviations in to the complete word, or to correct a name or place, that I had spelled incorrectly.

4)the table function under the insert tab is useful in conveying data and statistics in an organized manner.

5)the "clip art" function is a great tool to insert pictures to bring the article to life.

6)the "columns" function is great if you want to change around the appearance of the text to make is easier to read and understand. The "breaks" function goes hand in hand with it giving you complete control over which parts of the text you wish to change.

7)the "page border" function gives you many ways to frame the document, giving it a more official look and importance to the content.

8)the table of contents and the "update table" function is a great way to organize the topics in quick way for large documents, enabling the reader to get a quick overview and as a manual search tool.

9)the mailing address function is a great way to save time and money instead of ordering custom made envelopes, and it looks more professional that simply writing the recipients adress by hand.

10)the translation tool is very helpful when receiving or sending a letter, which replaces the other option of breaking your teeth (or hands) typing in a language that you are not familiar with.
